Pokémon Zelda Other Nintendo Other Games

Pokémon

Pokémon has always been my main franchise. Pokémon Diamond was my first ever not just Pokémon game but video game.

- Sun, Moon
- Ultra Sun

Other Pokémon Games I've Played
- Pokémon GO

- Pokémon Trading Card Game Online

I am an absolute completionist. I used to have a full living Pokédex in Pokémon Home. A living Pokédex means owning one of every Pokémon, not just registering each. At one point I released my entire living Pokédex except the mythical Pokémon, which, for the most part, can only be obtained during special limited-time events. I am now working on collecting a new living Pokédex with every form including gender differences.

Cards

I also have a decently sized card collection. My current collection takes up 5 binders. I have a binder for generations 1-4 and a separate binder for each generation 5-8. Despite having so many cards, the only set I have ever completed is the Kalos Starter Set. My collections for the later half of generation 8 and all of generation 9 are almost nonexistent due to the Covid pandemic.

Anime

I am semi-actively watching the anime. My eventual goal is to watch the entire anime from start to finish, every single episode. I also plan on watching every single movie. I am currently partially through Season 7.

The Legend of Zelda

It was only more recently that I started to get into The Legend of Zelda. My first Zelda game was The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD for the WiiU, which I played over the summer before my junior year of high school. Here are all the Zelda games I've played.

Main Zelda Games I've Played (listed in timeline order)
- Ocarina of Time 3D
- Wind Waker HD
- Skyward Sword HD
- Link's Awakening HD
- Spirit Tracks
- Breath of the Wild
- Tears of the Kingdom

Other Zelda Games I've Played
- Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

I have obtained true 100% completion of Breath of the Wild. I say true 100% completion because getting what the game considers to be 100% completion is significantly easier as it leaves out a surprising number of objectives. Completing every dungeon, getting all 900 korok seeds (the main collectable), and visiting every location that is named on the map is all that is needed. Nothing else, not even main quests, are technically needed for completion. Unfortunately, when I got my Tears of the Kingdom OLED Switch, my save data did not transfer over properly, and I lost my 100% completion save file. I am currently streaming another 100% run to get that save file back. I am also planning on doing 100% completion runs of Age of Calamity and Tears of the Kingdom when I finish Breath of the Wild.

Other Nintendo Games

Besides Pokémon and Zelda, there are a few other Nintendo games that I play a decent amount, though I don't actually really play many of the other major Nintendo franchises like Kirby or Xenoblade Chronicles.

The most notable game that I play is Super Mario Odyssey. While it is not the first Mario game I have owned, it is the first Mario game I have completed. However, I have not been able to 100% the game.

Most of the other games I play do not have stories or have very loose stories. They include:

- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Mario Kart

Non-Nintendo Games

I play a number of games that are not Nintendo, though this did not used to be the case. I used to be purely a Nintendo gamer, and except for Minecraft and a few mobile games, some of which I still play, I pretty much did not play a single computer game or non-Nintendo console game for most of my life. When I started streaming, I got a PC, which has allowed me to play games I was never able to play previously.

Story Games

My all time favorite game that is not a Nintendo game is Hollow Knight. Despite being an absolute completionist, I have yet to 100% Hollow Knight. Though more accurately, I should say I have not 112% the game. I like to say that I am a gamer with above average knowledge and below average skill. The below average skill is a major contributor to why I have not perfected the game. Besides regular runs, I also do a lot of modded runs, specifically randomizers. It also has my favorite soundtrack of any game, Nintendo or not, and I have not just learned some of it on piano but also written my own solo piano arrangements of a few tracks, namely Dirtmouth and False Knight.

A game set that is definitely up there as one of my favorites is the Horizon games, Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, and I haven't even finished Forbidden West yet. I love open world, discover-the-story kinds of games (hence why Hollow Knight and Breath of the Wild are also some of my favorite games), and these games are exactly that. Zero Dawn was my first truly major game that was not Nintendo, and, while I may not have made it super far into Forbidden West yet, I can say with confidence that it is the best true sequel I have ever seen. Besides picking up the story where Zero Dawn leaves it and bringing back characters and references that only make sense having played Zero Dawn, you start the game with everything you had gotten in Zero Dawn and the abilities you unlock further expand your capabilities to an absolutely massive degree, all while still feeling true to what was laid out in the original.

I am also a big fan of the Souls games, specifically Elden Ring, though it should come as no surprise that the open world FromSoft game would be my favorite of the group. The only other one I have fully played is Dark Souls 3, and I started Dark Souls Remasterd but did not make it very far into it.

Non-Story Games

My most played non-Nintendo game is probably Minecraft. I have been playing Minecraft since December of 2012. I don't play anywehre near as much as I used to, but I was always really big into redstone. If you want to know more, watch the video I posted on my YouTube channel sonataG Old.
